In Q2 2022, the top communication apps in Kenya showcased diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive view of the app landscape in the region.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a consistent weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $4 in the final week of June. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of around 192K in late May, while active users increased steadily from 10.9M to 11.6M over the quarter.

Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser experienced minimal revenue, with a notable spike to $11 in mid-June. Weekly downloads varied, peaking at 132K in early April and ending the quarter at 105K. Active users showed an overall upward trend, reaching about 1.5M by the end of June.

Snapchat had an interesting revenue pattern, with a significant increase to $29 in early June. Downloads saw a decline from 117K in early April to 46K by the end of June. However, active users grew from around 981K to 1.2M throughout the quarter.
